Trust Know1 Investigations is a proven leader in the private investigation industry, with licensed private investigators available in Rhode Island (RI) and Massachusetts (MA).

Founder Nelson DeGouveia is a licensed private investigator (PI) who spent over 30 years in law enforcement before starting Trust Know1 Investigations in 2020. 

Nelson previously served as a Deputy Sheriff and was the Director of the South Coast Anti-Crime Unit, which consisted of more than 60 officers from across local, state and federal agencies in Bristol County, MA. Nelson was also Chief of the Special Investigations Unit, Background Investigations, and Internal Affairs Unit for the Bristol County Sheriffs Office. 

Throughout his career, Nelson investigated a wide array of different criminal activities, including narcotics distribution, murder-for-hire plots, organized crime operations and more. He worked closely with the District Attorney's Office, U.S. Attorney's Office and various community partners. 

Trust Know1 Investigations was founded on the lessons learned and skills earned from Nelson's extensive experiences, and only employs team members who uphold the same core values of integrity, bravery and relentless tenacity. Many of our personnel also have prior law enforcement experience. Trust Know1 is also affiliated with the Licensed Private Detectives Association of Rhode Island (LPDARI).
